Gillingham will be hoping they can build on a recent improvement in League One results as they look to make a late push for the play-offs.

The Gills are currently seated 11th in the third ranking, but are unbeaten in their last three games, which has seen them drop within five points of sixth-placed Portsmouth in recent weeks.

The club have had their fair share of players over the years that have come and gone at Priestfield Stadium, with some having more impact than others.

Matt Jarvis – Woking

Matt Jarvis started his career at Gillingham and went on to do 120 appearances for the club in total, before leaving in favor of a move to Wolves.

The winger was a regular in the Championship and the Premier League, and then moved to West Ham and Norwich City.

But the winger is currently playing his football for Vanarama National League team, Woking.

Charlie Lee – City of Yeovil

Lee signed for the club in 2010 after drawing attention with good performances on loan the previous season.

He went on to become a regular with the Gillingham squad during his three years with the club, before being released at the end of his contract at the end of the 2013/14 season.

He now plays for the Yeovil Town National League.

Danny Kedwell – Havant & Waterlooville

Kedwell is well known for scoring goals consistently in the EFL’s lower leagues, and he did so in his time with Gillingham.

The striker has scored 45 goals in 136 appearances for the Gills during a four-year stint with the club, before leaving to join Ebbsfleet United.

He suffered a similar fate in front of goal for them and is now in his second spell with National League South team Havant & Waterlooville.

Myles Weston – Dagenham and Redbridge

Weston spent two years with Gillingham and did 82 appearances in total for the club.

The winger played for Wycombe Wanderers, Southend United and Ebbsfleet after leaving Gillingham, but now plays his football with Dagenham & Redbridge in the National League.

Jay Emmanuel-Thomas – Livingston

Emmanuel-Thomas spent the 2016/17 season on loan with Gillingham, and made 35 appearances for the club, while associating 11 goals for them.

The winger was on loan from QPR at the time of this loan spell, but then signed for Thailand’s PTT Rayong FC after leaving the London club.

He now plays for Livingston’s Scottish team.

Paulo Gazzaniga – Elche

Gazzaniga started his professional career with Gillingham in 2012 and made 22 appearances for the club.

But the keeper went in favor of a move to Southampton in 2012, where he made 23 appearances for the Premier League team.

The goalkeeper moved to Tottenham Hotspur as second-choice keeper in 2017 but is currently on loan at Spain’s Elche side.

Tom Williams – Hashtag United

Williams was with Gillingham during the 2005/06 season, but left in favor of a move to Swansea City in 2006.

The defender is now a player / coach of famous Hashtag United on Youtube, who ended their 2020/21 season early due to the current situation off the pitch.

Jonathan Bond – LA Galaxy

Bond spent part of the 2016/17 season on loan from Reading.

The keeper did eight appearances in total for the Gills before returning to Madejski Stadium. He left Reading for good in 2018, when he signed for West Brom.

But the sniper recently signed for the U.S. LA Galaxy team.
