Kyle Lowry’s tenure with the Toronto Raptors is closer than ever to an end. The playmaker’s contract expires this season and the Canadian team want to get as much of the player as possible, according to reports.
Recently he sold his house in Toronto for $ 5.12 million, fueling rumors that he left the team. It might have something to do with the COVID-19 pandemic, but more and more fans are convinced that the 2019 NBA champion is out after spending the past 9 years with the franchise. The Philadelphia native appears to be ready to leave the Raptors and according to recent reports he is letting people know he’s out this season.
Ryen Russillo recently joined ‘Bill Simmons podcast‘, where he spoke about a range of topics, including forecasting business deadlines. He revealed that Lowry is telling people he’s out of Toronto, which is playing Tampa Bay this season (1:13:00).
“The word about it is Lowry’s been telling everyone for the past month that he’s traded, what’s interesting is he’s already thinking ‘yes I’m getting out of here.’ So I don’t. dunno if he’s the one saying it, I don’t know if it’s a certain deal he has with the front office, I don’t know that part but every time you ask about Lowry he thinks let him go, I think they should trade him, by the way.
Lowry is widely regarded as the greatest Raptor of all time, but even good things come to an end. They plan to continue their project without their captain and the player looks set to start a new chapter in the league. Teams like Mowers, Sixers and Heat have been linked with him but nothing is certain now.
Knowing his quality and how well he played for the Canadian team, he will not be short of contenders in the coming weeks. This man can be a great addition to any competitor and this saga is only just beginning.
